Menu Plan Monday 10/12/09

>> Monday, October 12, 2009

It's a new week so it's time for a new menu. Before I get to this week's plan, I wanted to share a review and idea from this past week's menu. We tried this Saucy Pepper Steak for the first time this week.

I actually really liked it. It calls for barbeque sauce and I found that it gave the meal a nice kick. It was also quite inexpensive. I spent less than $5 for everything although I did forget to buy the onion and just used a green & red bell peppers. I already had the steak($1.31 manager's special), barbeque sauce(free), soy sauce(@ .05 cents) & rice(cost for this use @ .25 cents) on hand. It is definately a recipe that we will keep in our rotation in the future.

We had leftover meat mixture from the turkey joes we had for dinner earlier in the week. I decided to liven up the leftovers for Saturday's lunch. I heated up some of the mixture and spooned it into some crescent roll dough and rolled it up. It was a hit here and a nice change from a regular turkey joe.

Now onto what we're eating this week:

Chicken Pot Pie-Carried over from last week's menu.
Vegetarian Pasta e Fagioli
Chicken Quesadillas
Breakfast for dinner
Pizza
